The Senate President has asked the various security forces and agencies to ensure that the lives and properties of the people of Plateau state be adequately protected against deliberate attack by the Boko Haram Insurgent.
Reaching this resolution during the Senate plenary session on Wednesday after the Senator representing Plateau North, Istifanus Gyang, moved the motion
Gyang explain that Plateau was a Target of Boko Haram for kidnap and murder as a result of their religion choice and tribe.
Sighting the cases of the student recently killed student who was an indigene of Plateau state as an example, He explained that the viral video released by the terrorists depicts hate narrative capable of setting other Nigerians against the Plateau people.
He stated that the incident was capable of polarising the country along ethnic and religious lines.
The Senate in its resolution urged the police to specifically ensure adequate protection for Plateau students in the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, University of Maiduguri and the University of Jos.
