Dennis Bonaventure, new invitee from Club Brugge, may lead the Super Eagles attack when the team play against Ukraine in a friendly match in Dnipro later today.
Bonaventure wore the No.9 jersey, previously worn by Odion Ighalo, during the Eagles training on Sunday.
Ighalo retired from the Eagles after the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, where Nigeria finished third.
The forward scored five goals to emerge as top scorer at the AFCON.
Eagles coach Gernot Rohr invited Bonaventure as a replacement for Henry Onyekuru, who pulled out of the Ukraine tie to process his Residence Permit in France.
Bonaventure, who plays for Club Brugge, has two goals in eight appearances for his club this season.
He joins Maduka Okoye, Joe Aribo and Josh Maja as players who are getting their first call-ups to the senior national team of Nigeria.
