Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has said that 10 of the 18 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed in the state were members of the same family.
Making this revelation in a tweet on Friday, El-Rufai said the new cases were recorded in four Local Government Areas of the state.
Appealing to residents of the state to adhere to saftey measures put in place to curb the spread of the virus, EL Rufai said that the communities where the new cases were discovered are Kaduna North, Zaria, Chikun and Sabon-Gari LGAs.
According to him, 14 of the new cases are from Kaduna North, two from Zaria and one each from Chikun and Sabon-Gari.
The governor appealed to residents to adhere strictly to safety measures put in place to check the spread of the virus in the state.
El-Rufai tweeted, “18 new cases were recorded today, 10 of whom are family members of one case.
“14 of the new cases are from Kaduna North, two from Zaria and one each from Chikun and Sabon-Gari LGAs.
“Residents are advised to adhere to safety measures.”
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, on Thursday, announced that 339 new cases of the viral infection have been recorded in the country.
Out of the 339 new cases confirmed, 18 were recorded in Kaduna.
