The Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday approved N623, 700, 000 for the purchase of 1,200 desktops and computers for the Nigerian Customs Services across the country.
Making this known on Wednesday was the Minister of Information Lai Mohammed who gave a breakdown of the approvals while briefing newsmen of the outcome of this week’s FEC meeting.
According to him over N1,348,057,600 was approved for the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning.
The proposal was presented by the Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning.
Lai Mohammed said, “The Minister of Finance presented a memo for the award of contract for 1, 200 units of coloured printers and desktop computers for human resources and accounting management systems across zones and area commands of the Nigeria Customs Service, which was approved.
“The sum of the contract was N623, 700, 000 for the 1, 200 desktops and computers for the use of the Customs Service all over the country,”
The minister of Information also explained that ”the Ministry of Education secured approval for the construction of a Health Faculty at the Plateau State University, Bokkos (PSUB), at the cost of N610, 355, 221.82, as well as another N114, 357, 600 approval for the procurement of furniture and other equipment.
