The President of the Nigerian Senate Ahmad Lawan has named Senator Smart Ademeyemi to replace Dino Melaye as the chairman, Senate committee on Aviation.
Adeyemi who replaced Melay at the senate after defeating him at the Kogi west Supplementary elections was announced as the chairman of the aviation committee at the special plenary session held on Friday.
The upper chamber, thereafter, adjourned till January 28, 2020.
The Senate would have adjourned on Thursday (yesterday) but shelved plenary in honour of the late Senator representing Imo North Senatorial district, Benjamin Uwajumogu.
It will be recalled Lawan yesterday, drew the attention of the Senate to the death of the Senator..
He called for a minute silence while the Senate rule was amended to enable the Senate to sit on Friday.
The Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, seconded the motion and the plenary was adjourned till Friday.
