Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG has warned Nigerians against retaliation on South Africans residing in Nigeria because of the ongoing xenophobic attack in the country.

Adeboye gave the warning at the monthly Holy Ghost Service program of the church which held at the Redemption Camp, Lagos Ibadan Expressway.

Adeboye said instead of reprisal attacks, Nigerians should allow the government of the concerned countries to take adequate measures which would address the issue appropriately.

He said, “I beg you not to take retaliation against South Africans. The average South African is decent, those who are causing trouble are not many. If you have any South African as neighbours, show them love, don’t attack them.”

The RCCG General Overseer gave an account of his experience before the civil war and said, “you don’t know what it is to be in another man’s land without knowing what would happen overnight. I want you to stop reprisal attack for the sake of Nigerians who are still in South Africa”

He added that if the government should repatriate all Nigerians from South Africa, majority would return back within two months and that’s the reason the issue should be resolved amicably. He urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders so they can make the right decision which would favour all citizens within and outside the country.
